Description
This coffee maker descaler breaks down mineral scale that restricts water flow and brewing temperature.
Descale with Discipline
Mineral buildup from hard water can slow flow and lower brewing temperature over time, affecting the extraction and flavor. This coffee maker descaler targets the scale on your brewer’s water heating element, restoring it to its ideal temperature for maximum flavor extraction.
Use it monthly on single-cup brewers, automatic drip machines, and espresso makers. Clean equipment is part of a good cup.
HOW TO USE
Add 1 ounce of Bar Keepers Friend Coffee Maker Descaler for every 8 ounces of cold water needed to fill your machine’s reservoir. Do not exceed your machine’s max fill line. Place an empty carafe or mug under the brew spout. Run a regular clean or brew cycle. Once done, run a second cycle to rinse with water out the descaler. Descale once a month or anytime you notice signs of hard water, like slower brewing or odd flavors.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What does descaling a coffee maker mean?
Descaling is the process of removing mineral deposits that build up on your coffee maker’s water heating element over time. These deposits can slow water flow and prevent your machine from reaching its ideal brewing temperature — which affects extraction and ultimately the flavor in your cup. Regular descaling keeps your machine running the way it should.
How do you descale a coffee maker?
Mix 1 oz of Bar Keeper’s Friend Coffee Maker Descaler with every 8 oz of cold water needed to fill your coffee maker’s reservoir. Remove any filters or pods, pour the solution in, and run a brew cycle. Discard the used solution, rinse the carafe, then run one more cycle with clean cold water to rinse the machine. For best results, descale monthly or according to your brewer’s manual.
Is Bar Keeper’s Friend Coffee Maker Descaler safe for Keurig, Nespresso, or espresso machines?
Yes. Bar Keeper’s Friend Coffee Maker Descaler is safe for single-cup brewers, automatic drip machines, and espresso makers. Always refer to your brewer’s manual before descaling.
