FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is oxalic acid?
Oxalic acid occurs naturally in vegetables like rhubarb, chives, and parsley. It’s the same compound that inspired George William Hoffman to create Bar Keeper’s Friend in 1882. The oxalic acid we use today is commercially produced for consistent, reliable performance.
Can I use this on stainless steel appliances?
Yes! But check if your stainless steel is magnetic first. Our Powder Cleanser works great on non-magnetic stainless steel (like sinks and cookware). However, if a magnet sticks to your appliance (like most refrigerators), we recommend using our Stainless Steel Cleaner & Polish instead, as it’s specifically designed for magnetic stainless steel surfaces.
What’s the difference between Powder Cleanser and Soft Cleanser?
Powder Cleanser is the original formula, and it gives you full control. Mix it with water, using more powder for the tough jobs and less for everyday upkeep. Soft Cleanser is the same trusted formula pre-mixed into a liquid for more ease and control. Both do the job right. It just comes down to how you like to clean.
